Karissa Roy, M.A., LCDC, LPC Associate
Hello there. Be proud of yourself for making it this far and taking the steps to find a safe place to express yourself and to find a counselor that is a good fit for you. I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern. I have a wide range of experience since 2014 of working with individuals who struggle with grief, trauma, sexual identity, PTSD, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, depression, substance abuse, relapse prevention, and much more. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and am EMDR trained.
I utilize a person-centered therapeutic style that focuses on your needs and utilize a variety of techniques to meet you where you are at. I value listening to you and learning from you because you are the expert about yourself! I tend to focus on identifying negative patterns or thought processes (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy lens), finding realistic coping skills, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques. My drive is to help you discover your strengths and
things you did not realize about yourself while providing a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment.
If you would like to work with me or have any questions feel free to reach me by text/phone call at 512.967.3835 or email me at [email protected] My current availability ranges from approximately 7 am to 2 pm on Tuesdays and 7 am to 3 pm on Thursdays. I do not accept insurance and charge $75 to $95 for 50-minute sessions. The location of counseling is at 7703 North Lamar Blvd. Austin, Tx.
