Greg Dean Phelps, LPC Associate

I’m a licensed therapist (LPC-Asssociate) who focuses on working with adult individuals who are struggling with symptoms like anxiety, depression, and a lack of meaning or purpose. My background is in existential, relational, psychoanalytical, and person-centered theories. I also have experience with parts work and attachment theory, and am always learning about other evidence-based methods.
In my experience, most clients come to therapy for one or all of these reasons:
- to free themselves from unhelpful patterns, beliefs, or behaviors
- to reduce their suffering, isolation, or loneliness
- to discover how to live more fully and meaningfully in the present
- to improve, form, or repair relationships
- to find a new calling or meaning in life
Some clients may already have a previous diagnosis like anxiety, depression, or ADHD, and are looking to try a new approach. Others may be unsure and simply know that they need something to change.
I specialize in working with men, but enjoy working with adults of all backgrounds who are seeking a male therapist. My personal experiences with psychotherapy also makes me a good fit for people who want a therapist who understands struggles like career changes, self-hatred, or sexuality and identity concerns.
I can incorporate humor in my work (thanks to my training and background in comedy), and have had success using methods like narrative therapy and roleplaying in my work when it’s appropriate. If you’re a creative, artist, or performer of any kind, my experience in that field may come in handy.
If you think we might be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out today.
